Papagayo Sportfishing requires a deposit to secure your charter. Cancellation 5 or more days before the trip qualifies for a full deposit refund. No-shows forfeit the deposit. Special terms apply to the Azimut 105ft and Viking 75ft, which have non-refundable deposits but may be rescheduled. If weather conditions make the trip unsafe, the captain may cancel and we will reschedule or refund your deposit if rescheduling is not possible.

Cancelation Terms
Some boat reservations require a 50% deposit, while others require a deposit of approximately $200 or slightly more.
All reservations must be secured with a deposit paid by credit card or PayPal.
The remaining balance is normally collected in cash on the day of the charter. If you prefer to pay the balance online by credit card, please let us know at least one day before the trip, and we will send you an invoice for the remaining balance.
Cash is always the preferred payment method. In Costa Rica, online credit card transactions are subject to applicable taxes.
If you need to pay for the entire fishing charter by credit card, the full payment must be processed before the day of the charter. In most cases, the boat captain does not have access to a credit card machine at the dock, so credit card payments cannot normally be processed at the marina on the day of the trip.
Cancellation fees may apply. If you cancel your fishing trip or tour at least 5 days before the scheduled date, your deposit will be refunded 100% promptly, with no delays or questions asked. The same policy applies if your flight is canceled and you are unable to travel to Costa Rica.
No-shows will forfeit the full deposit.
The standard cancellation policy does not apply to the 105-foot Azimut Yacht or the 75-foot Viking. Deposits for these boats are non-refundable. However, clients may request to reschedule or postpone the charter for another available date.
If the captain cancels the fishing trip or tour due to unsafe weather or sea conditions, we will first try to reschedule your trip for another day, provided your schedule allows. If rescheduling is not possible, we will refund your deposit in full.
When you reserve a fishing trip, we do not accept another charter for that same date. The captain and deckhand prepare the boat, equipment, bait, and everything necessary for your trip in advance. A no-show means the crew and fully prepared boat are left waiting for a charter that does not arrive, which is why deposits are non-refundable in the case of no-shows.
